Oxford – our first day in England

Our journey started at 6:30 am on the ship. We got up and prepared for the day. We left the ship with our coach (bus) and then we drove about two to three hours to Oxford. Before we arrived in the city we made a little break at McDonald’s where we also got some breakfast and snacks from the teachers.

We arrived in Oxford - it was raining. But the weather got better after about an hour. We first looked at Christ Church College, a very picturesque university building, and Luisa held a presentation about the place. We walked through the city and enjoyed some sights and after an hour of free time (where we grabbed a bite) we visited Christ Church College from the inside. We were spit into groups and got some information from an audio guide. 

I (Ben) bought an retro England jersey and Felix bought a few souvenirs in order to surprise his family with a present.

In the evening we stayed at the hostel, dinner was horrible but the owners are friendly. Felix and I played werewolf with some of our friends and went to bed later. That was our day, interesting and exciting. We are looking forward to the next days. 

Tomorrow, we'll be in London.

1st day/journey to England/

3am - 54 kids sitting in a bus and ahead of us is a 14 hour bus drive. Let´s say it was kind of crazy. Of course the bus drive had funny parts and interesting conversations but in German we would describe it as "ZACH". There were some safety hazards because some people slept on the ground and nobody had their seatbelts on but it was more comfortable that way😉. Overall there isn´t much to say about the drive.                                                   Afterwards it was time to go onto the ship.  Let´s say it didn't start well, because we immediately got a task from our teachers Ernst Fischer, Elisabeth Ortbauer, Markus Hintereitner and Ulrike Moser. At the beginning it was a bit challenging for us because it was kind of awkward to speak to random strangers and interview them, but after we stepped out of our comfort zone we were...

All our bags are packed...

 ...we´re ready to go, leaving now... Just some images from our take-off last night, taken at 2.30 am - the kids from 4L and 5AT were really excited to leave and couldn´t wait for the coach (our luxury bus from Ratzenböck definitely deserves that name) to arrive and pack up. On our way now, and just approaching Hoeck van Holland, where we'll be boarding our overnight ferry - more about that later in our first students´ blog entry. And - do not fret, I am not really driving! ;-) ERF

Our first entry! This is us, the 5AT

  Hi guys,  this is us, the 5AT - and this is our new blog where we tell you things about our class, our activities and about our upcoming trip, our roadtrip to England. We will keep anyone who is interested updated here - with pics and infos about everyday we spent in England travelling around the country. There will be many things to see, so you can expect some interesting information.
