Day 11: The Garden of England - Kent (by Magdi & Klara S.)
In the morning we had a two and a half hour drive from Brighton to Rye. When we arrived in Rye, we quickly took a look inside the church called St. Mary’s Church and some of the students went up the tower.
After the visit, we had some free time in the town. We used that time to go shopping and bought some gifts for our family. During that time Magdi also bought overpriced Belgium chocolate covered with strawberries and Klara and Elena saw a Porsche.
After we had returned to the bus, it took us another half hour to Sissinghurst Castle Garden. The big variety of plants was really fascinating. We crafted some cute leaf sculptures on the watersurface and walked through the breath-taking paths.
Before we went to our hostel in Medway, we got ourselves two chocolate chip cookies and a salted caramel flavoured ice cream as a snack. In the end we took an hour´s ride to our hostle in Medway.
When we arrived, the teachers checked all the backpacks because they were suspicious that some students might have bought alcohol, which was quite stressful. In the evening we went down to a pond nearby and Lena H. was nearly killed by an aggressively falling tree.
Later that evening, we had a quiz checking our knowledge about the last couple of places we visited.
